Online and Interactive Psychological First Aid in the Workplace (Introduction) Course

Psychological First Aid (PFA) is a critically important approach to responding to incidents and providing immediate support to individuals affected by trauma. This course is specifically designed to provide a framework for compassionate and practical assistance to individuals in the immediate aftermath of a traumatic incident.

The significance of PFA lies in its ability to provide timely support and prevent further harm. By understanding the impacts of trauma and applying effective strategies, PFA responders can help create a sense of safety, emotional comfort, and stability for those affected.
PFA training equips participants with essential skills to assess needs, establish rapport, provide active listening, and respond appropriately in crisis situations. By enhancing their understanding of trauma and its effects, PFA responders can offer tailored support that considers individual differences, cultural sensitivities, and specific contexts.

Whether it is a workplace incident, a natural disaster, a community crisis, or any other traumatic event, the implementation of PFA ensures a compassionate and effective response. By promoting psychological wellbeing, reducing distress, and fostering resilience, PFA contributes to the overall recovery and healing process.

Topics include:

  • Trauma Awareness and Post Traumatic Illnesses
  • Workplace Response to Trauma
  • Understanding and Applying Psychological First Aid in the Workplace
  • Risk Factors and Self-Care
