Online and Interactive Leadership in Psychosocial Risk Management for Workplace Wellbeing Course

In today’s ever-evolving landscape of workplace wellbeing, it is increasingly an employer’s responsibility to equip their leaders with the essential skills for identifying and managing psychosocial risks. This comprehensive course fulfils this duty by providing leaders with the knowledge and practical tools needed to skillfully identify, assess, and manage psychosocial risks within their teams and organisation.

Leaders will acquire the skills necessary to proactively recognise psychosocial risks that can affect the wellbeing and performance of their team members. This knowledge is conveyed through engaging interactive sessions and real-world case studies, providing participants with a profound understanding of psychosocial hazards, their ramifications, and how to implement early interventions through practical workplace controls and reasonable adjustments.

Beyond risk identification, participants will also develop the essential skillset for early intervention. This encompasses not only the ability to proactively detect signs of poor mental health within their teams but, critically, the capacity to engage in supportive early intervention conversations that cultivate a workplace environment conducive to wellbeing. In doing so, this course ensures compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and addresses the unique needs of leaders, who themselves face a heightened risk of experiencing mental health challenges.

Key Topics Covered:

  1. Identifying Psychosocial Hazards and Risks: Learn to pinpoint potential risks affecting mental wellbeing and understand the common risk controls to be implemented.
  2. Risk Management Principals: Gain insights into detecting psychosocial hazards early and understanding strategies for managing psychosocial hazards in the workplace.
  3. Leaders Intervention Skills Development: Develop the skills necessary for engaging in sensitive and effective mental health conversations with team members, ensuring a clear separation between discussions about mental wellbeing and work performance.
  4. Providing Support for Leaders Following an Intervention: Understand the strategies for providing ongoing support and leadership post-intervention.
By the course’s conclusion, leaders will be well-prepared to cultivate a workplace environment that prioritizes the mental health and wellbeing of their employees, all while effectively managing psychosocial risks.
